A bit of Collierville history
Founded in 1836 by real estate developer Jesse R. Collier, who platted 40 acres of an earlier settlement called Oak Grove. The Shelby County Court accepted the incorporation petition on Feb. 7, 1850. Second-oldest settlement in Shelby County, today the third-largest municipality in the county.
