Fair housing, and the line we hold on data.
Longstep Property Solutions is an Equal Housing Opportunity company. We serve every owner, resident, and applicant the same way, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, familial status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
How we present neighborhood data
We publish a lot of Memphis data: rents, sale prices, building permits, market trends, and public crime statistics. We hold all of it to one rule.
- Same data for every area. We show objective, sourced figures consistently, not a hand-picked story for one neighborhood and a different one for the next.
- We do not rate neighborhoods. We never label an area good or bad, desirable or undesirable, safe or unsafe, and we never tell anyone where they should or should not live or invest. That choice is yours.
- Data is context, not a verdict. We present public figures as factual information, with their limits stated plainly, never as a judgment about a place or the people who live there.
About the crime data specifically
Our Memphis Crime Map and neighborhood pages show reported incidents from the Memphis Police Department's public feed. Reported crime is not total crime, and it does not measure how safe a place is or anything about its residents. We show it as factual public information, colored by trend direction rather than raw counts, the same for every area. It is one input among many, never advice on where to buy or live.
If you want to see exactly where every number on this site comes from, we publish that too: how we source our numbers.
For owners, residents, and applicants
We screen every applicant against the same criteria and welcome every qualified applicant. Where an owner chooses a more flexible standard for their property, we apply that standard the same way to everyone who applies. Reasonable accommodations and modifications for people with disabilities are available on request. If you ever feel you were treated unfairly, we want to hear it.
